The PTA is a great way to bring together parents, teachers and others to raise money to support our school and make a difference for our children. It is a great way for parents to become more involved with the school community. Working in partnership with the school, the PTA helps to develop strong links between home and school. It provides an opportunity for everyone to work together towards a common goal and is open to all parents and teachers even if they only have a small amount of time available to get involved.

.PTA AGM, July 16th 2026
Thank you so much to those who came to the AGM/ice cream sale , it was hugely appreciated.
We just thought we’d recap on what was said as it was potentially drowned out by ice cream admin!
A bit about the PTA
As parents and teachers you are all members of the PTA, regardless of whether you are on the committee. We then have a committee of currently 5 of us who oversee the admin and financial side of everything and have to adhere to all the charitable commission regulations etc.
The current committee is made up of Lottie (Chair), Charlotte (our treasurer), Amy, Amelia and Ali. Laura and Megan are also very active members and help with the organising and running of events.
Ali, Amelia and Lottie have children going into year 6 in Sept and as such we’ll be looking to step down by the end of the next academic year so over the next year we’ll be looking to recruit a team to replace us.
In the meantime, we are happy to stay on as committee members of the PTA unless anyone has any objections!
On the hunt for a Secretary
We are actively looking for someone to fill the role as secretary so if there is anyone who would be interested in this please could you let Charlotte know [email protected] ? Just to put it into context, we’re all working parents so juggle PTA stuff around work and children and life in general – we understand time is precious so don’t feel we’re going to inundate you with meetings etc!
On the hunt for Helpers
If you’re not up for a spot on the committee but would like to help us out in any way, however, big or small we would always be delighted to hear from you. This could be anything from helping out cooking sausages for bonfire night for a couple of hours to organising your own event on behalf of the PTA (with or without our help). Thank you to those who gave us your details yesterday and if anyone else would like to please email [email protected] .
Finances
From a financial perspective, the last financial year was a very good one for us, we raised over £6500 which is more than usual, mainly due to the school’s 400th anniversary celebrations.
The accounts will be posted on the school website in September once they have been filed.
The main fundraising events we held during the year included
From the funds generated we then allocated £800 to each class to put towards transport for school trips or workshops coming into the classroom which all the classes made good use of.
We also funded the school discos, the leavers hoodies plus a contribution to the leavers party, a pantomime and panto workshop coming into school, Christmas party crackers and decorations, Easter Eggs for the egg decorating competition, ice lollies at sports day and most recently we bought a large planter for the soon-to-be refurbed KS1 playground.
The aim is to invest in events or items which will enrich the children’s time at school (as opposed to general upkeep costs etc), the sort of fun extras as it were.
We hope everyone has a brilliant summer holidays, let the chaos commence..!

- 400th anniversary celebration – a summer fete with stalls, a fab raffle, bar, live music etc
- Chastleton Teas (running the tea-room in the church next to the National Trust house).
- Cauliflower Cards (children-drawn Christmas Cards)

- Stikins name stickers

Our PTA are amazing and they do all sorts of things to support the school and enrich the lives of the children.

Christmas sparkle |
Sometimes the simplest ideas can be very effective!
Buy doughnuts, sell doughnuts at a reasonable profit. Lots of smiley faces and happy people and £60 in funds raised to go towards the children. |

Thank you too for organising the secondhand uniform giveaway alongside the doughnut sale. A bit of recycling is always a good thing and we raised £17.

The PTA came into school to decorate the tree and make Christmas extra special for the children. It's position in the hall meant that all the children could see it in assemblies and during lunch.

And thank you so much for the Christmas Crackers. They made the children's Freshstart Christmas Lunch even more special!
The November Firework display was brilliant. Literally!
This takes a lot of hard work and organisation.
Huge thanks to the PTA and friends of the PTA for making it such a success.
The children were delighted with the benches that PTA helped to purchase.
They are made from 100% recycled plastic and should last for around 25 years!
The benches are used by Key Stage 2 during morning break, and by the whole school during lunch break.
