This unit of work provides the opportunity to further explore the seasons. Children will focus on the changes that take place during winter and how those changes impact both the environment around us and animals in the UK. The children will explore different animal habitats and how they are adapted. Children will also look at London, its’ key landmarks and some famous faces that live there. They will explore some of the similarities and differences between where they live and the capital. Children will be introduced to some events that mark new beginnings such as the Lunar New Year.

Children take everything in. They love it when you chat, play and read with them, even when they’re too young to understand everything. You can turn almost anything into a game. And every little thing you do together will help set them up nicely for the day they start school. Please click on the button to access the Tiny Happy People Site. Our Class Photo Gallery
We have had a morning of painting. First we painted 'anything we wanted to' and then we painted our favourite dinosaurs.
We have been outside exploring our environment, using the Muddy feet resources. We have walked with bare feet, talked about our shadows, and then lay down and gazed at the sky and the clouds. We all felt very relaxed at the end of the session.
Armistice Day
The children in Acorn Class learned about 'Poppy Day' and why we have a two minute silence. They used collage to make some beautiful pictures of poppies.
